Top Medals Won at Science Olympics!!!
Forty-six of our students participated in Science Olympics at Concordia University, River Forest on Saturday, November 7th. This was Concordia University's 12th Annual Science Competition with 14 schools and over 250 students from 4th-8th grades participating in the events.

St. Paul Lutheran students led by Betty Gyllstrom, the upper grade Science and seventh grade teacher, prepared for the Science Olympics by practicing for seven weeks along with incredible assistance from other dedicated St. Paul teachers, school parents and alumni students.
The Science Olympics events require students to apply their knowledge of science in challenging and creative ways. The events bring science to life for the students along with exposing them to practicing scientists.

St. Paul had teams of students participating in all of the eight science events and winning an outstanding number of medals at this one-day competition. The following teams were awarded top medals for their academic performances: Andrew Dobria (Gold Medal ) and Kelly Raye and Deanna Stone (Silver Medal ) for Map Mania event, Taylor Maretta and Laura Talley (Gold Medal), Mitchell O'Connell and Richard Marrero (Silver Medal), Nick Salomonson and Will Clarke (Bronze Medal ) for Egg Drop event, Matthew Dilfer and Joey Sienkiewicz (Bronze Medal) for Aero Twist event, Brandon McCallister and Emily Johnson (Bronze Medal) for Starry, Starry Night event, Erin Behland and Brandon McCallister (Silver Medal) and Audrey Tamulewicz and Monica Toledo (Bronze Medal) for Mystery Powders.
