Preschool’s September News
Greetings parents and welcome,
This is going to be the beginning of a very exciting time for you and your child. There will be lots of laughter and yes, a few tears as we all adjust changes brought about by a new school year. I will be working closely with you and your child to make these transitions as smooth as possible. Your child’s spiritual, academic and emotional growth is always my top priority, so never hesitate to approach me with questions, suggestions or concerns. .
Work Time For the month of September the students and I will be getting to know each other through games, songs and shared literature in the form of “Big Books,” and corresponding take-home books. Your child will be introduced to vocabulary, phonics, numbers, sequencing, whole group instruction and individual skill building activities. The best part of all this learning; they think it’s all play!
Our letters for this month will be Ff, Aa & Hh. We will focus on additional letters as they appear in our names and begin or reinforce simple writing methods. Tabby Tiger is a fictional character introduced in this month’s theme “New Places, New Faces.” She will use our classroom rules to reinforce #’s 1-4. Look for Tabby’s take home letters for further “Going’s on in the classroom.”
Jesus Time In the beginning God said let there be light! I love seeing the “light” of God shine in the students’ eyes as they learn about how God has created them and loves them dearly. This month we will read Bible stories, complete fun projects and sing songs that help show us how special we are to our Heavenly Father. Later in the month we will travel with Noah and a bunch of animals on an ark. How fun! Our Jesus time lessons have take home letters as well. However, I often jump around in my presentation of the materials so the weekly headings my not match our current week.
I have attached a separate sheet of important dates. Please mark your calendars for the upcoming events.
Now, let the playing and praying begin…
Many Blessings, Mrs. Nowak
