Pastor Walt Schoenfuhs was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He lived most of his life in Baltimore, Maryland where he graduated from Immanuel Lutheran School and the Baltimore Lutheran High School. A graduate of Concordia College, Bronxville, New York (then, a junior college), Pastor Walt finished his undergraduate work at Concordia Senior College in Ft. Wayne, Indiana and then eventually graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary, also in Ft. Wayne, in 1979.
Pastor Walt’s first parish was Christ Lutheran Church in Troy, New Hampshire where he served from 1979 to 1991. Since 1991, Pastor Walt has been the sole pastor at our congregation, St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Pastor Walt has been married to Susan (Peggy) for 30 years. Peggy currently teaches at the Union Ridge Elementary School of Harwood Heights, Illinois. They have been blessed with two daughter (Rachel & Julia), two sons-in-law (Toby & Matt), and four grandchildren (Josiah, Isabelle, Karis and William).

Speaking of suggestions, may I make one? Actually, two? Suggestion #1 is this: as you search through this website, might I encourage you to search out your relationship with God? Search out who Jesus is. Search out what it means to be a follower of our Lord. Search your own heart to see where you are as far as God is concerned. There is no more important searching that can go on than that! I urge you to search out God in all aspects of your life and in all aspects of who you are.
My second suggestion is this: give us try at St. Paul Lutheran Church and School. Drop by for worship. Give us a call. Send us an email. Investigate both our congregation and school to see if we might be exactly the kind of Christian fellowship you’ve been longing for. We would love having you come by. Introduce yourself when you do.
