Julianna Shults was born in El Toro, CA, and moved to Kansas when she was four. She grew up in Topeka, KS with parents, Rick and Marilyn, and two younger siblings, Christina and Alex. Julianna was a Topeka Lutheran School Wildcat and a Topeka West High School Charger.  She was a band geek, and worked at a number of interesting jobs including Dairy Queen and Old Navy.  Julianna attended Concordia University in Seward, NE and graduated in 2004 with a BA in Psychology and Director of Christian Education Certification with an emphasis in youth and family ministry.

In August of 2004, Julianna started an internship at Hope Lutheran Church in Plant City, FL.  Even after three hurricanes, she accepted the call to serve as DCE and was greatly blessed by the congregation.  In June of 2008, Julianna accepted the call to St. Paul to serve as Director of Children and Youth Ministry.  Yes, she realizes Chicago has cold winters where Florida does not.

God has a crazy sense of humor, and has led Julianna to be a speaker at the 2007 LCMS National Youth Gathering, 2007 National Lutheran Educators Association Convocation, the 2006 Fl-Ga Jr. High District Gathering, and the 2007 Fl-Ga Sr. High District Gathering.  In 2005 one of her devotions was published in the book Hindsight.  Julianna is currently the Pop Culture blogger at www.youthesource.com
